WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump appears to have picked up another Nobel Peace Prize nomination — this time from the new Japanese prime minister, Sanae Takaichi. She told him during a meeting in Tokyo that she plans to put his name forward for the distinguished award.

President Donald Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi aboard the USS George Washington, announcing missile deliveries to Japan's Self-Defense Forces.

Takaichi said that the cherry trees would be gifted in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary next year and would bolster a new “golden age” of US-Japan relations.
